The Requirements

Initial Washroom Solutions (IWS) secured a large contract with one of the UK’s top four supermarket chains. The contract covered feminine hygiene units across more than 350 stores.

However, the new unit had a different shape and size from IWS’s existing range. This created a challenge for the IWS Service Centre Network. They needed a trolley to store and move the units safely between the depot and vehicles.

Shelfspan had previously supplied trolleys to IWS for moving and storing products. Therefore, we worked with the Inventory Manager to survey an IWS site and understand the new requirements.

Using these requirements, Shelfspan designed a bespoke trolley that could safely store and transport the new feminine hygiene units.

The Solution

Shelfspan supplied a robust plastic trolley with capacity for 24 feminine hygiene units. The design met IWS’s operational and health and safety requirements while offering a cost-effective solution.

The trolley uses a durable plastic construction to help minimise damage to the units. In addition, non-marking swivel castors allow staff to move the trolley easily around the depot.

As a result, IWS gained a practical storage and handling solution that supports the safe movement of feminine hygiene units across its service centre network.
