ESD-Safe Shelving & Trolleys

ESD-safe shelving and trolleys provide a practical storage solution for environments where electrical devices, components and sensitive equipment need protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD).

If electrical devices are stored on metal shelving or trolleys, it is important to consider ESD protection. Electrostatic discharge can generate intense heat that may melt or vaporise small parts within electronic devices, potentially causing damage, reducing performance or shortening their working life.

ESD Upgradeable Chrome Wire Shelving & Trolleys

The Eclipse® Chrome Wire range can be upgraded for ESD-safe applications, including all available shelving sizes, accessories and trolleys. This provides flexibility when creating storage systems for static-sensitive environments.

The ESD upgrade uses conductive components to help provide a suitable path for electrostatic discharge. Each shelf is fitted with conductive collars (minimum 2 per shelf), while the bottom of each post is fitted with either conductive feet or anti-static castors.

This ESD configuration can be applied to both Eclipse® Chrome Wire shelving and trolleys, making the range suitable for a variety of storage and handling applications.

ESD Components

The required components depend on whether the shelving or trolley is being used as a static unit or a mobile solution. Conductive collars and metal base plates are used with each shelf, while conductive feet or anti-static castors are fitted to the bottom of the posts.

For mobile applications, anti-static castors provide the required conductive connection while allowing the trolley to be moved around the working environment.
