When a college’s Animal Husbandry & Welfare Department needed a versatile storage solution for a range of reptile habitats, they turned to Shelfspan for a bespoke shelving system designed around their specific requirements.
The department needed durable, hygienic and adaptable shelving capable of safely supporting different-sized animal tanks and habitats across multiple rooms. 440 size variations – With up to 440 size combinations available, Eko Fit provided the flexibility required to create shelving layouts around the dimensions of the animal habitats and the available space.
Heavy-duty load capacity – Each shelf can support up to 250kg, with a maximum bay capacity of 1,000kg, providing the strength needed to safely support heavy reptile tanks and enclosures.
Hygienic and easy to clean – The aluminium framework is combined with removable, dishwasher-safe plastic slatted shelves, helping to create a practical shelving solution for an animal care environment where cleanliness is essential.
Adjustable shelf heights – Shelf levels can be adjusted in 150mm increments, allowing the shelving to accommodate habitats of different heights and sizes.
Flexible and adaptable design – The modular construction makes it possible to configure the shelving around the application, providing flexibility as habitat sizes, room layouts and storage requirements change.
Professional installation – The complete shelving system was installed in just one day by fully trained Shelfspan installation staff, minimising disruption to the college and its animal care facilities.
